Restoring Dignity, One Bag at a Time
Comfort bags provide practical items and gentle support for survivors navigating the criminal legal system.
But these bags are about more than supplies.
And creating a truly trauma-informed criminal legal system requires far more than a comfort bag.
Still, small acts of care matter.
A bottle of water. A place to write. A tissue.
Something to hold.
Each bag is designed to offer a tangible reminder of care, compassion, and human dignity during what may be an incredibly difficult interaction with the system.
Sadly, those things are not always part of the experience.
We believe they should be.
Every item included in each bag is intentional, and bags are customized to meet the needs of survivors at different points in their journey through the system.

Grounding Stone
To hold if it feels helpful
We shouldn't assume what might be helpful to survivors during their interactions with the legal system.
We should ask survivors directly.
And that's exactly what we did.
Each item below was carefully included in law enforcement comfort bags based on feedback from survivors.
